Club History.
The club was formed in 1981 by Brian Jones, a lecturer at Slough College for Further Education (now the Thames Valley University). It was known as Slough ICPUG (Independent Commodore Products Users Group), a branch of National ICPUG - a group dedicated to one of the first 'affordable' machines, the Commodore PET. We moved to the Maidenhead Community Centre in 1992 and are now largely PC orientated with some AppleMac experience as well, but welcome owners of all types of machine. We moved on again to free accomodation at the offices of Zinsser Analytic
Our Aim.![]()
The groups aim is to provide a focal point in the Maidenhead area for anyone who has an interest in computing whether they own a machine or not and to aid & advise all members as best we can.
Members.
Our members all have varying interests in differing aspects of computing. Some have hardware expertise, some software and others very little at all - but what we all have is a genuine desire to help each other with computer related problems. We all had to start somewhere and even the more initiated of us still have problems from time to time and require the help of other club members to solve them.
Newsletter.
We produce a monthly newsletter with what members have been up to, articles on new technologies, hints & tips and any other computer related information. This is available on our web site or posted to members without Internet access.
Links.![]()
We have links to other local and not so local computer clubs and share information with them (and ask & give help when needed).
